Are you a resident who would like to organize a community initiative or project? Do you want to improve your community safety and well-being?

2026/27 Quick Action Grants – Round 1

We are pleased to announce the launch of the 2026/27 Quick Action Grants (QAGs) for community initiatives and projects in South-Central Richmond Hill. Local residents, grassroots organizations, and community agencies are invited to apply for funding to support short-term, community-driven actions that respond to local priorities.

Quick Action Grants are designed to support initiatives that align with the Community Safety and Well-Being (CSWB) Plan and the work of the South-Central Richmond Hill Community Action Table (SCRHCAT). For this funding round, projects must address one or both of the following local priorities:

  • Mental Wellbeing
  • Housing Stability
Agency-Led Quick Action Grants

Two Agency-led Quick Action Grants are available for up to $7,500. These grants support projects led and delivered by eligible agencies that operate in or support residents within South-Central Richmond Hill. Projects should be completed within 6–9 months of approval and may begin as early as June 2026, with all activities and reporting completed by March 5, 2027.

Resident-Led Quick Action Grants

Five Resident-led Quick Action Grants are available for up to $4,000. These grants support projects led and delivered by a minimum of five local residents who are not related to one another and do not live at the same address. Resident-led projects must be completed within 6 months of approval, with all activities and reporting completed by December 4, 2026.

Examples of eligible activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Community events that strengthen connection and belonging
  • Mental wellbeing and wellness activities (e.g., walking groups, peer support circles)
  • Workshops, forums, or learning circles
  • Community arts or cultural activities
  • Initiatives that raise awareness or provide support related to mental wellbeing or housing stability

All funded initiatives must be free to participate, take place within South-Central Richmond Hill, and demonstrate alignment with local priorities.

Application Deadline: Friday, April 24, 2026 at 4:00 PM

Applicants are encouraged to attend an information session prior to applying.
